The prostate is really a gland that is part of the male sexual organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate, rather than prostate. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or even surgical measures. It has only recently been detected that medicines such as Docetaxel could be useful in treating a cancerous prostate.
