The prostate gland is a vital part of the sex organs of the male. It is mistakenly called the prostrate. The prostate gland's predominant function is to produce and then store a clear liquid that is a vital part of semen (seminal fluid). Cancer of the prostate gland is one of the most commonplace cancers to strike older males and a major cause of deaths. Regular rectal exams are recommended to find prostate cancer early.
