The prostate is a component of the male sexual organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate, rather than prostate. The prostate gland's paramount function is to first secrete and then store a transparent liquid that is a component of semen (seminal fluid). A non-diseased human's prostate is a little bit greater in size than a shelled walnut. The prostate gland surrounds the urethra beneath the bladder. Prostate cancer is one of the most commonplace cancers that affects older-aged men and a leading cause of deaths. Consistent rectal exams are recommended to detect prostate cancer before it spreads. There is also a laboratory blood evaluation that can measure the concentration of a protein, PSA or Prostate Specific Antigen), which should normally be quite low. Raised blood PSA results might signify disorder within the prostate, either prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or cancer. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can lead your doctor to investigate with further tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or operations. It has only recently been discovered that medicines like Docetaxel can sometimes be effective in treating cancer.

Stimulation of the prostate in males is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can cause more powerful orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for clinical value or strictly sexual purposes.
