Here is information about benign prostrate bph
The prostate is a gland that is a component of the masculine sexual organs. The prostate is mistakenly called the prostrate gland. The prostate's principle function is to first secrete and then store a transparent liquid that is a vital component of semen (seminal fluid). A non-diseased human prostate gland is a little bit larger than a shelled walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra underneath the urinary bladder. It is located in front of the rectal area and part of it can be felt while undergoing a rectal evaluation.
Inflammation of the prostate is a gland that is termed prostatitis. If the prostate becomes too enlarged it can stop the flow of urine, making urination difficult and very painful and in very severe instances totally impossible. Prostatitis can often be treated with antibiotic medications, massage of the prostate or even surgical procedures.
In older males, the prostate may enlarge to the point where urination is difficult. This is referred to as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. It can be treated with different types of medication or with operations that removes a portion of the prostate. One common surgical procedure used in these types of cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR or TURP).
Prostatic gland cancer is one of the most common cancers that strikes older-aged men and a major cause of death. Regular rectal exams are recommended to detect prostate cancer in the early stages. There is also also a lab blood test that will measure the amount of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be very low. Raised bloodwork PSA results might highly suggest disorder in the prostate, whether prostatitis, bPH or prostate cancer. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can cause a physician to investigate more thoroughly. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or surgical procedures. It has just recently been detected that drugs like Docetaxel are useful in treating cancer.
Stimulation of the prostate in males is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can cause more powerful orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate either for health-related or strictly for sexual fulfillment.
