The prostate is a gland that is a vital part of the sex organs of the male. It is mistakenly known as the prostrate. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can be a reason for your physician to investigate even further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or even surgery. It has just recently been found that medications including Docetaxel could be helpful in treating cancer.
