Wecome to this site about bph treatment comments
The prostate is a gland that is a vital component of the male sex organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly called the prostrate. The prostate's most primary role is to produce and then store a see-through liquid that is a component of semen, or seminal fluid. A normal human prostate gland is a little bit bigger than a walnut. It surrounds the urethra underneath the bladder. It is also located in front of the rectal area and part of it can be felt while undergoing the rectal exam.
Inflammation in the prostate gland is known as prostatitis. If the prostate becomes too large it can stop urine flow, making urination painful and difficult and in very severe instances completely impossible. Prostatitis can usually be treated with antibiotics, massage of the prostate or even surgical procedures.
In older males, the prostate may enlarge to the point where urination is difficult. This is referred to as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. It can be treated with the use of medications or with even surgical procedures that removes a component of the prostate. One very typical surgery used in these types of cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR or TURP).
Cancer of the prostate gland is one of the most common cancers that affects elderly men and a leading cause of deaths. Regular rectal exams are highly recommended to uncover prostate cancer before it spreads. There is also a laboratory blood test that will measure the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be very low. Raised test results may highly suggest disorder inside the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or a cancerous prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can cause a physician to investigate more closely. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even surgical procedures. It has just recently been uncovered that medicines including Docetaxel could be useful in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Stimulation of the prostate gland in men is often compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can cause more powerful orgasm. Prostate massage or prostate milking refers to massage of the prostate either for medical value or primarily for sexual purposes.
