Welcome to our site about erection during prostrate exam

The prostate is a gland that is a vital component of the male sex organs. It is mistakenly known as the prostrate, rather than prostate. The prostate's primary role is to produce and store a clear liquid that is a vital component of semen. A normal man's prostate gland is somewhat larger in size than a walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra below the urinary bladder. It is located in front of the rectal region and part of it can be felt during the course of the rectal part of the exam.

Inflammation of the prostate is a gland that is named prostatitis. If the prostate grows too large it can impede urine flow, making urination difficult and painful and in extreme instances completely impassable. Prostatitis is commonly treated with antibiotic prescription drugs, prostate massage or even surgery.

In elderly males, the prostate can enlarge to the point where urinating becomes difficult or impossible. This is commonly known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, commonly termed BPH. It can be treated with different types of medication or with operations that removes part of the prostate. One commonplace operation used in such cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP or TUR).

Cancer of the prostate is one of the most frequent cancers to strike older males and a leading cause of death. Consistent rectal exams are medically recommended to pick up prostate cancer early. There is also a blood test that will measure the amount of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be very low. Raised pSA blood results may indicate a disease in the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or prostate cancer. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can cause a physician to investigate even further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or surgical measures. It has only recently been observed that medications including Docetaxel can sometimes be useful in treating prostate cancer.

Stimulation of the prostate in males is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for clinical or strictly sexual fulfillment.
