Raised bloodwork PSA results might signify disorder within the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or a cancerous prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can be a reason for a physician to investigate more. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even surgical procedures. It has recently been detected that drugs like Docetaxel are helpful in treating cancer.
