Welcome to our site about natrual prostate health
The prostate is a gland that is a component of the sex organs of the male. The prostate is mistakenly called the prostrate gland. The prostate gland's most paramount role is to first secrete and then store a transparent liquid that is a vital component of seminal fluid. A non-diseased individual's prostate gland is slightly heftier in size than a shelled walnut. It surrounds the urethra beneath the urinary bladder. It is positioned in front of the rectum and a portion of it can be felt during the normal course of a rectal examination.
Inflammation of the prostate is a gland that is referred to as prostatitis. If the prostate becomes too large it can stop up urine flow, making urination difficult and painful and in very extreme cases entirely impassable. Prostatitis can often be treated with antibiotic prescription medications, massage of the prostate or even surgical procedures.
In elderly males, the prostate can grow to the point where urination becomes difficult. This is termed benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. It can be treated with different types of medicines or with even operations that removes a portion of the prostate. One common surgical procedure used in these types of cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR or TURP).
Cancer of the prostate gland is one of the most frequent cancers that affects elderly men and a major cause of deaths. Regular rectal exams are recommended to pick up prostate cancer early. There is also a laboratory blood evaluation that measures the concentration of a protein, PSA or Prostate Specific Antigen), which should normally be quite low. Elevated blood PSA results can indicate a disorder in the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or cancer. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can cause your physician to investigate with additional tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even surgical measures. It has just recently been found that drugs like Docetaxel may be helpful in treating prostate cancer.
Stimulation of the prostate gland in men is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful sexual climax. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for medical value or strictly sexual fulfillment.
