Here is a webpage about prostate backache symptoms
The prostate is an important part of the sex organs of the male. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate. The prostate's most important job is to first produce and then store a transparent liquid that is a vital component of seminal fluid. A sound individual's prostate is slightly bigger in size than a shelled walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra just below the bladder. It is also located in front of the rectum and part of it can be felt during a rectal exam or evaluation.
Inflammation of the prostate is a gland that is known as prostatitis. If the prostate becomes enlarged it can stop up the flow of urine, making urination painful and difficult and in severe instances completely impassable. Prostatitis can usually be treated with antibiotics, massage of the prostate or surgery.
In older males, the prostate may enlarge to the point where urination is difficult. This is called bPH/benign prostatic hyperplasia. It can be treated with different types of medications or with even surgery that removes a portion of the prostate. One common surgical procedure used in such cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP or TUR).
Prostatic cancer is one of the most frequent cancers that affects older males and a leading cause of deaths. Regular rectal exams are highly recommended to discover prostate cancer before it spreads. There can be also a blood evaluation that can measure the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which is, in normal men, very low. Elevated pSA blood results can signal disease inside the prostate, either prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or a cancerous prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can be grounds for a physician to investigate with further tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or surgery. It has recently been noted that drugs like Docetaxel may be helpful in treating a cancerous prostate.
Stimulating the prostate in men is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful sexual climax. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for clinical value or primarily for sexual fulfillment.
