The prostate is a component of the male sexual organs. The prostate is mistakenly called the prostrate, rather than prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can lead a doctor to investigate further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even operations. It has recently been detected that medicines such as Docetaxel are helpful in the treatment of prostate cancer.
