The prostate is really a gland that is a vital component of the male sex organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate. Its most important role is to first secrete and then store a clear fluid that is a component of semen, or seminal fluid. Cancer of the prostate gland is one of the most commonplace cancers to strike elderly men and a major cause of deaths. Consistent rectal exams are medically recommended to uncover prostate cancer early. There can be also a blood evaluation that measures the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be very low. Elevated pSA blood results may signify disorder inside the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or prostate cancer.
