The prostate is a gland that is a vital part of the male sexual organs. It is mistakenly known as the prostrate gland. Its leading function is to secrete and then store a clear fluid that is part of seminal fluid or semen. A sound man's prostate is a little bit greater in size than a shelled walnut. There is also a laboratory blood evaluation that will measure the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which is also normally very low. Raised test results may suggest disorder in the prostate, whether prostatitis, bPH or a cancerous prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can cause your physician to investigate more thoroughly. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or even operations. It has only recently been noted that drugs like Docetaxel could be helpful in treating cancer.

Stimulation of the prostate gland in males is often compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can cause more powerful sexual climax. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate either for clinical or strictly sexual fulfillment.
