The prostate is part of the masculine sexual organs. The prostate is mistakenly known as the prostrate. Its paramount function is to produce and store a transparent fluid that is part of seminal fluid (semen). A sound human's prostate gland is a little bit heftier in size than a walnut. Consistent rectal exams are medically recommended to find prostate cancer in the early stages. There is also a laboratory blood test that will measure the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which is also normally very low. Raised test results might signify disorder within the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or prostate cancer. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between them, but can lead your doctor to investigate more closely. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or surgery. It has just recently been found that drugs like Docetaxel may be helpful in the treatment of prostate cancer.

Stimulation of the prostate gland in males is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can cause more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate either for clinical value or just for sexual fulfillment.
