Welcome. Here is a site about prostate ultrasound interpreting the results
The prostate is a vital component of the sex organs of the male. The prostate gland is mistakenly called the prostrate. The prostate gland's chief role is to first secrete and then store a clear liquid that is a vital component of semen (seminal fluid). A healthy individual's prostate gland is a little bit bigger than a walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It is also situated in front of the rectum and part of it can be felt during the normal course of a rectal examination.
Inflammation of the prostate is a gland that is known as prostatitis. If the prostate grows too enlarged it can occlude urine flow, making urination difficult and very painful and in very severe cases completely impassable. Prostatitis is commonly treated with antibiotics, prostate massage or operations.
In older males, the prostate may grow to the point where urinating is difficult. This is termed bPH/benign prostatic hyperplasia. It can be treated with different types of medicinal drugs or with surgery that removes a component of the prostate. One common surgical procedure used in these types of cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR or TURP).
Cancer of the prostate is one of the most common cancers affecting older-aged males and a major cause of death. Regular rectal exams are recommended to discover prostate cancer in the early stages. There can be also a blood test that can measure the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which is, in normal men, very low. Raised blood PSA results may be an indicator of disorder in the prostate, either prostatitis, bPH or cancer. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can lead your doctor to investigate further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or operations. It has recently been noted that drugs including Docetaxel could be effective in treating cancer.
Stimulating the prostate gland in males is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can lead to more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massage of the prostate whether for clinical or just for sexual purposes.
