The prostate is really a gland that is a vital part of the masculine sex organs. It is mistakenly known as the prostrate, rather than prostate. Raised pSA blood results can suggest disorder inside the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or prostate cancer. The PSA test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can be grounds for a doctor to investigate with further tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or even surgical procedures. It has recently been noticed that medications such as Docetaxel are useful in treating a cancerous prostate.

Stimulating the prostate in males is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can lead to more powerful sexual climax. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for medical value or strictly for sexual fulfillment.
