Welcome to this webpage about prostrate health and sex
The prostate is a component of the sex organs of the male. The prostate is mistakenly called the prostrate gland. The prostate gland's most primary job is to produce and then store a clear fluid that is part of semen. A non-diseased human's prostate is slightly bigger in size than a walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra underneath the bladder. It is also positioned in front of the rectal region and a portion of it can be felt while undergoing the rectal exam.
Inflammation in the prostate gland is referred to as prostatitis. If the prostate becomes too large it can impede urine flow, making urination very painful and difficult and in very severe instances wholly impossible. Prostatitis can often be treated with antibiotic prescription medications, prostate massage or operations.
In men who are older, the prostate can grow to the point where urinating is difficult. This is referred to as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It can be treated with different types of medication or with operations that removes a portion of the prostate. One common operation used in these types of cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP or TUR).
Prostatic cancer is one of the most frequent cancers that affects elderly males and a leading cause of death. Regular rectal exams are highly recommended to discover prostate cancer in the early stages. There can be also a laboratory blood test that measures the amount of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be quite low. Elevated test results could be an indicator of disease inside the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or prostate cancer. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can be a reason for your doctor to investigate with additional tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or surgical procedures. It has recently been discovered that medicines including Docetaxel can sometimes be helpful in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Stimulation of the prostate gland in males is frequently compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can cause more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for medical value or just for sexual fulfillment.
