Wecome to this site about prostrate problems and masterbation
The prostate is really a gland that is a vital component of the masculine sexual organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly called the prostrate. The prostate's most paramount role is to secrete and store a transparent liquid that is part of semen, or seminal fluid. A normal man's prostate is somewhat larger in size than a shelled walnut. It surrounds the urethra beneath the urinary bladder. It is also located in front of the rectum and part of it can be felt during the normal course of the rectal part of the exam.
Inflammation of the prostate is a gland that is named prostatitis. If the prostate grows too enlarged it can impede the urine stream, making urination difficult and very painful and in extreme cases wholly impassable. Prostatitis can often be treated with antibiotic drugs, massage of the prostate or surgical measures.
In men who are elderly, the prostate may enlarge to the point where urinating becomes difficult or impossible. This is referred to as bPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia. It can be treated with the use of medications or with surgery that removes part of the prostate. One very typical operation used in these types of cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP or TUR).
Cancer of the prostate is one of the most frequent cancers affecting older-aged men and a major cause of death. Regular rectal exams are recommended to detect prostate cancer before it spreads. There can be also a blood evaluation that can measure the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be quite low. Elevated test results might signal disorder inside the prostate, either prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or prostate cancer. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can cause your doctor to investigate further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or surgical measures. It has just recently been observed that medicines such as Docetaxel may be helpful in treating a cancerous prostate.
Stimulation of the prostate gland in men is often compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can lead to more powerful orgasm. Prostate massage or prostate milking refers to massage of the prostate whether for clinical value or for strictly sexual purposes.
