This page is all about prostrate surgery video

The prostate is a gland that is an important part of the masculine sexual organs. It is mistakenly called the prostrate, rather than prostate. The prostate gland's leading job is to first produce and then store a transparent fluid that is part of seminal fluid or semen. A healthy human's prostate gland is somewhat larger in size than a walnut. It surrounds the urethra below the urinary bladder. It is also located in front of the rectal area and part of it can be felt during a rectal exam or evaluation.

Inflammation in the prostate gland is termed prostatitis. If the prostate grows too much in size it can obstruct the urine stream, making urination very painful and difficult and in very extreme situations wholly impossible. Prostatitis is treated with antibiotic prescription medications, massage of the prostate or surgical measures.

In older males, the prostate may grow to the point where urination is difficult. This is referred to as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It can be treated with prescription medications or with operations that removes a component of the prostate. One common operation used in such cases is called transurethral prostate resection (TURP or TUR).

Prostatic gland cancer is one of the most frequent cancers that affects elderly males and a major cause of dying. Regular rectal exams are highly recommended to find prostate cancer early. There can be also a blood evaluation that measures the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be quite low. Raised bloodwork PSA results could indicate a disease within the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or a cancerous prostate. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between them, but can cause your doctor to investigate with additional tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or operations. It has just recently been noted that medicines including Docetaxel are helpful in treating prostate cancer.

Stimulation of the prostate in males is often compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful orgasm. Prostate massage or prostate milking refers to massage of the prostate either for clinical value or just for sexual purposes.
