Welcome. Here is a site about psa and prostate information
The prostate is a component of the masculine sexual organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate, rather than prostate. The prostate gland's overriding job is to produce and store a clear liquid that is part of seminal fluid or semen. A sound individual's prostate is a little bit bigger than a walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra just below the bladder. It is positioned in front of the rectal area and a portion of it can be felt during the course of the rectal part of the exam.
Inflammation in the prostate gland is termed prostatitis. If the prostate becomes too enlarged it can obstruct the flow of urine, making urination difficult and very painful and in very severe instances entirely impassable. Prostatitis can often be treated with antibiotic medications, massage of the prostate or surgical procedures.
In elderly males, the prostate can enlarge to the point where urination is difficult. This is known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, commonly called BPH. It can be treated with medicinal drugs or with surgical procedures that removes a portion of the prostate. One very typical surgery used in these types of cases is called transurethral prostate resection (TURP or TUR).
Prostatic gland cancer is one of the most commonplace cancers to affect elderly men and a major cause of dying. Regular rectal exams are recommended to pick up prostate cancer before it spreads. There is also a laboratory blood test that can measure the amount of a protein, PSA or Prostate Specific Antigen), which can be normally very low. Raised test results might indicate a disorder within the prostate, whether prostatitis, bPH or a cancerous prostate. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can be grounds for your doctor to investigate more thoroughly. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or surgical procedures. It has only recently been observed that drugs like Docetaxel are useful in the treatment of cancer.
Stimulating the prostate gland in men has been compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate whether for clinical value or primarily for sexual fulfillment.
