The prostate gland is a vital part of the male sexual organs. It is mistakenly called the prostrate gland. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can be a reason for your doctor to investigate even further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even operations. It has recently been noted that medicines such as Docetaxel can sometimes be effective in treating a cancerous prostate.
