The prostate is a gland that is part of the sex organs of the male. The prostate gland is mistakenly called the prostrate. There is also also a blood test that measures the concentration of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be quite low. Elevated bloodwork PSA results could be an indicator of disorder in the prostate, whether prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or a cancerous prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can cause your physician to investigate with further tests. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even surgery. It has only recently been found that medications including Docetaxel may be effective in the treatment of cancer.

Stimulation of the prostate gland in males is often compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massaging motions of the prostate either for health-related or for strictly sexual fulfillment.
