The prostate is a gland that is an important part of the male sexual organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate, rather than prostate. There is also also a blood evaluation that can measure the amount of a protein, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), which should normally be very low. Raised test results could be an indicator of disease inside the prostate, whether prostatitis, bPH or a cancerous prostate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can be grounds for a doctor to investigate more closely. Prostate cancer is treated with hormonal manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or even surgical measures. It has just recently been discovered that medicines such as Docetaxel can be effective in treating a cancerous prostate.

Stimulation of the prostate in males has been compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massage of the prostate either for medical value or strictly for sexual fulfillment.
