The prostate is really a gland that is an important part of the masculine sex organs. The prostate gland is mistakenly known as the prostrate. The PSA test cannot distinguish between them, but can cause your doctor to investigate further. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (preventing testosterone production), radiation or operations. It has only recently been found that drugs like Docetaxel could be helpful in the treatment of prostate cancer.
