Wecome to this site about who should perform prostatectomy

The prostate is an important part of the male sexual organs. The prostate is mistakenly called the prostrate gland. Its main function is to first secrete and then store a clear fluid that is an important part of semen, or seminal fluid. A healthy man's prostate is a bit bigger in size than a shelled walnut. The prostate surrounds the urethra underneath the urinary bladder. It is also positioned in front of the rectum and part of it can be felt while undergoing the rectal examination.

Inflammation in the prostate gland is referred to as prostatitis. If the prostate grows too much in size it can obstruct the urine stream, making urination painful and difficult and in extreme cases totally impossible. Prostatitis can usually be treated with antibiotics, prostate massage or even surgical procedures.

In older men, the prostate can enlarge to the point where urinating becomes difficult or impossible. This is called bPH/benign prostatic hyperplasia. It can be treated with medicines or with operations that removes a component of the prostate. One common operation used in such cases is called transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP or TUR).

Cancer of the prostate is one of the most frequent cancers that affects older-aged men and a leading cause of deaths. Regular rectal exams are medically recommended to pick up prostate cancer in the early stages. There is also also a blood test that will measure the amount of a protein, PSA or Prostate Specific Antigen), which is, in normal men, very low. Elevated test results may be an indicator of disorder inside the prostate, either prostatitis, bPH or cancer. The PSA blood test cannot distinguish between these conditions, but can cause your doctor to investigate more closely. Prostate cancer is treated with hormone manipulation (prevention of production of testosterone), radiation or even surgical procedures. It has recently been discovered that drugs such as Docetaxel can be effective in treating a cancerous prostate.

Stimulating the prostate gland in men is typically compared to stimulation of the G spot in females because prostate stimulation can result in a more powerful experience of orgasm. Prostate massage or milking refers to massage of the prostate either for medical value or strictly for sexual fulfillment.
